Hostmaze.com review

$

So recently I tried a vps from hostmaze.com and honestly...

The service is rubbish, the server speeds are slow .

I have opened tickets and on there site it says they average response times of 10 minutes, this isn't true at all because all the tickets apart from one was not answered in 10 minutes or even close to 10 minutes.

They also appear to have no service level agreement either as far as I am aware so yeah the can give your crap service and there's nothing you can do.

So yeah just know what your getting into with them.

LizCat Acceptable connectivity to China, bad connectivity to the rest of the world (April 2017)

Hello, LET mobs.

A few months ago, I bought a VPS from LizCat after reading this post.
https://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/107781/nyavm-vps-in-la-sjc-only-4-5-month#latest

4.5 USD for direct China route is a decent deal.
Back then, I needed a direct China route VPS which could be a proxy server of my machine in Beijing. Otherwise, it might take a long time to deploy my project on Github and grab data from Dallas Softlayer. At the very beginning, the performance was OK. I happily did some testings. In term of China connectivity, it was a good deal.

However, after buying the VPS for a few days.
The provider sent me an email and said that they were facing 5Gbps DDoS attack.
I was fine as I did not need the proxy server immediately. However, after the attack, the connectivity did not come back again.
After a few days, I connected to the VPS and tried to download data from Dallas Softlayer. The connectivity to Softlayer Dallas was terrible. Only a hundred KB/s.

I checked ping and traceroute. Nothing special.
I decided to put it away and waited for a period.

Two weeks later, I did another testing.
Here are the results:

VPS Information:
2 vCPU (I added one CPU)
1 GB RAM
1 Gbps port
Ubuntu 16.04
10 USD / month

Linode

Linode Dallas

Linode US East

Linode US West

--

Softlayer

Softlayer Dallas

Softlayer Germany

Softlayer Hong Kong

Softlayer WDC

Softlayer Seoul

Softlayer SJC

--

Speedtest ( China server)

--

At that time, I had a rectified VPS
I also did a Speedtest (China server)

--

Comparing with Rectified Direct China Route VPS, LizCat VPS did have better performance in term of China connectivity.

However, it still looks pretty dead to me. Where's 1Gbps port? Only hundreds KB/s download speed from Linode and Softlayer could not satisfice my request.

--

Conclusion

I did not expect 1Gbps connection to China. Not with 10 USD per month. To be fair, my VPS did have good China connectivity. However, it doesn't matter. Given the bad connection to the rest of the world, I did not know what I can do with it. The only option was releasing this VPS and move on. 20 USD for a one-time proxy.

Today I saw LizCat giving out free KVM for one month, which reminded me this incident. In the provider's post, they claimed that many Chinese customers canceled their service. I think they do have a good reason to do so.

Hi,folks, long time no come, unfortunately, this time I appeared here again to tell my bad experience,do you still remember ever I reported bad experience in vmhaus here:https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/145925/report-bad-experience-in-vmhaus#latest

After that report,I have no any hope only want to tell my experience and give up their service, but long time later when I login back to LET,I found vmhaus commented in my that report and said something to try to keep promise,

but in fact they didn't keep, now even worse than before, nowdays most time is no any reply, and my problem is still no any change,I still have money left in vmhaus, but I will not purchase next time any more.

Refund? Language barrier? Culture difference? Let's make this example--Hostsolution and me

Hey Fellas,

I just read a topic about some thoughts about language/culture differences stuff, meanwhile, i am experiencing kind of same conflict with Hostsolution. If you get patient and feel boring, grab a beer, make a review about this topic, and leave your comments. Or, save precious time and close this tap.

all is acceptable to criticize me if I am wrong on something or offensive. BTW, I am a Chinese but i don't wanna represent Chinese which i cannot.

I will attach all tickets i raised to Hostsolution as background story, all of them related to my final request, Or, what merchant concerned-- refund. feel tried abt this word? I understood.

let's be fair, I uncovered my real name if people try to argue, I promise, this is unpainted. There are million chenhua on the internet...sry to marius, you did waste time on me, so am i.

ticket#1

PS: May I say some replies of mine was removed before it closed from this ticket? Emmm..some really nice words...why..

ticket#2

ticket#3

ticket#4

ticket#5

ticket#6

From some points, I might pushed Hostsolution staff too hard in past few days, sry for my patience.

@cociu Any words could be comment, I read your thread talking abt your chinese customers, On that time, i upvoted you i remember? but it seems i was wrong, now from my perspective. till now, My first purpose is done. post my attitude to Hostsolution, which is unsatisfied.

what i posted&said is also a reference for what i am thinking. I know, you guys confused about why chinese like dispute so often? but for me, a chinese, sry to say, I never made a dispute on internet (hostsolution is the closest to make a record but still no). And, i also knew there are many well-educated chinese customers didn't do it before. so pls dont ruin reputation by one shot. it's a sad feeling to those customers you really desire to have.

Somehow, we both know not every apple from the same appletree is nice, more common knowledge, you will see more bad one when you stand in front of a big tree. Do i make sense?

It's your choice to decide whether make business with chinese or not, set a unspeakable/unwatchable barrier, or even close your door to china (just like D&G directly humiliated Chinese ) for me, I'll choose the one who win respect.

everyone wanna stay away from trouble. few profit&much more works is not you want; give the money&be a idiot is not my choice. let's do more switch from seller&customer, Assuming you are well-educated, i think you could understand.

I tried to tell myself again and again, i only represent myself, but still, some of my words are inappropriate, hope your understanding and wish you best.

finally, If i get banned for this thread...well, let it banned.

Review of InceptionHosting.com

Hello, my name is Lukas,

I was searching here on LowEndTalk for many VPSs last year. I have selected the InceptionHosting.com and this is the review of my 1-year experience with this hosting and especially with nice guy Anthony.

Brief project description: My project was in crypto space - operating Zencash security nodes, so I needed quite powerful VPS (4GB ram, 20 GB NVMe SSD, dedicated IP, and 2x 3+GHz CPU Core). The most challenging has been to maintain the operation of multiple VPSs on the same KVM node. Because blockchain applications are heavily IOps demanding.

During our cooperation with Anthony, we had to solve a few problems because my project has been growing fast to approx 200x VPSs with the mentioned specification. And I have to say that all tickets, requirements and all needs have been solved incredibly fast and informatively. Anthony is a really nice and knowledgeable guy and I have to say that even almost with my Ph.D. in Cybernetics I have many things which I have to learn from him.

I would like to thank you Anthony and InceptionHosting.com for such a GREAT and positive experience. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Anthony and InceptionHosting.com to anybody who has high demand requirements on hosting company.

PS: You can pay even in crypto - which I can see as a huge benefit.

Once again thank you!

Have a great day.

Lukas

Online Database Service From Online.net

Well I tough this was a positive review but just after 2 days of using this service I can say that is not reliable at all, they claim to be online all the time and this service also is managed by them as they said on the service description https://online.net/en/ods, I made the big mistake on trusting online.net my databases specially the one that is more important to me right now, just because I liked the idea of not managing the databases by myself and have my webservers separate of my databases, so far 2 hours down and if I did not open a ticket they won't even noticed that the service was totally down, they even asked me if something specific was not working fine, but I left everything as default and let them manage what they claim to be managed by them but I guess they forgot to monitor the service as well...

Under service status on their website everything seems to light green but I guess that is a big lie as another friend that is also using database service is totally offline because of the same issue, I will not recommend this service to anybody, from now on I will keep my databases just as they were before I made the mistake of "testing" this service as my main service for my databases.

Hosting Guruji Reviews Compliants Advices Suggestions Cautions

Hosting Guruji Reviews Compliants Advices Suggestions Cautions Things to Know Attention;

Read real reviews comments suggestions tips advices about Hosting Guruji.

Here my experience about Hosting guruji and losing 0,54 USD. They do not provide service and not fully refund when you requested.

A few days ago, I bought a hosting service from HOSTING GURUJI, After I purchase it passed 12 hours and they could still not provide me hosting service, not answering tickets where this is absolutely not normal in web hosting business.

That's way I immediatelly asked cancellation +refund. They refunded partly paid amont but they reduced 0,54 USD cent. I asked fully refund and they rejected to refund it.

Cancellation request was on same day of purchase. Into international business people can always get fully refund ( should be as law ) for cancallations within 7 to 14 days..For some countries and products this can be extented untill 30 days...

0,54 USD cent is not huge money, but I assume that they are not doeing hosting business, they are dealing something else ( I can not write here because of TRUSTPILOT policy, you know what it is... ). Because while refunding, reducing 0,54 USD cent is not a transaction of a real business company. In USA I buy something from WALMART and 20 days later I bring back, I receive fully refund. WALMART is not reducing some amount.

Besides, amount is small, most people can not see it ( reduced amount while refund ). If people see it, than they can not sue this people(s) because of balance is small.

I am supposing that they may do this for everyone allover the world
and earn unfair gain.

They had discovered a wonderfull legal technique to get money from people without giving a service;

1) Offering very cheap hosting
2) Client purchase it and not get service
3) Client ask cancellation + refund and they reduce some amount while refund.
4) Client claims PAYPAL for reduced amount, but they win at the end. I do not know how they manage this, PAYPAL says " seller showed us valid tracking number.. ". This is not a product which can send by post, how PAYPAL can talk about " tracking number " this is another big question and my case / correspondence with PAYPAL is still continueing .

As conclusion, HOST GURUJI is not a reliable place for hosting business, it cost me luckly 0,54 USD cent, but this may cost for you more. My recommendation is to avoid someone which provides such a poor service / strange refund / reducing transactions.

I know there have been plenty of threads around here with poor reviews but instead of another story I'm going to post my hetrixtools uptime monitor to this and let it speak for itself. This is a shared hosting rig that is up for renewal sometime next year so I will leave this up until then. They advertise a 99.99% uptime guarantee.

Signed up here for the 2gig SSD plan:
https://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/139307/crowncloud-500-gb-kvm-storage-at-los-angeles-ca-5-month-or-25-semi-annually-more/p1

Set up was fast, was confused as to why I chose an OS on signup, why the control panel told me I was online ** AND ** told me I was running CentOS 6 when no OS installed on signup.

Pretty odd behavior, but support was very fast and friendly. I am moving sites over from BudgetVM, with whom I have been with for a long time (4 + years) through thick and thin.

I will update this thread later on down the road. I do wish they had some sort of managed or add-on snapshot ability. As a VPS customer, our biggest risk is often the provider disappearing, so managed backups don't do much good in those situations, but I still would pay for them if they were an option.

Hello,

As part of #givesomethingbackdecember initiative, @AnthonySmith kindly granted me one VPS, Being first-time InceptionHosting customer I don't want the miss the chance to do a little review.

It seems to be the "UK KVM Pure NVMe SSD" currently in the "Special offers" page.

Upon order confirmation, the VPS was allocated almost immediately. The mandatory bench.sh output is below:

Hi Guys,

As most of you know that Pageclick.net owners have changed. Although the current owners are trying to give a picture that the service is better resource and operation costs are higher now. The packages are costly now. But all of this was not the reason that I have moved on after staying with them for a year or so. I had a recent discussion going on regarding the change of owner, this might be helpful for any current and future customers.

Hey,
Hope you guys are doing good :)
I've been with HVH for a while now & I've to say that their Support is getting better every another day. I ordered a X3450 from GVH in October 2014 & still have that & I haven't noticed any kind of downtime as of now. I have that under my HVH account now :)
I got HVH's mail this week regarding their 25% Off recurring discount so I took another server (E3-1240) from them. I contacted Ernie over skype regarding a discount for SSD upgrade & he confirmed instantly that I'm good to order.
Here is how bench (on new server) looks like:

[root@kvm4 ~]# ./bench.sh
CPU model : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1230 v3 @ 3.30GHz
Number of cores : 8
CPU frequency : 2428.207 MHz

Total amount of swap : MB
System uptime : 14 min,
Download speed from CacheFly: 109MB/s

IO speed on this new server really blowed my mind with this speed as this a single SSD (INTEL SSDSC2BW240A4) without any kind of cache.

They also have control panel (integrated in their WHMCS) with which you can control power, monitor bandwidth & look for assets etc. Neither of my IPs are listed on any RBL. Have 1x /29, 1x /28 on my old server while 1x /29 yet on the new server.

I've to say that you should consider HVH if you want a cheap server :) And not to mention that Ernie will be surely helpful if you can't find something you need.

Hi friends,

Have boxes with many providers including ramnode, dediserve, gbserve, vmbox etc.

But, Never tried letbox.com earlier. Saw their bf/cm offers and wanted to jump in. But, again a bit hesitant and let it go.

If you have a service with them, could you please tell me how they score on support/uptime/performance?

Planning to get there Pack4 if the offer repeats this christmas/new year.

Note : I did try contacting them. But, there whmcs contact page asks to login to create a sales ticket!

thanks.

I ordered 3 sparks. The performance was fantastic. They were 100% reliable. I was amazed. For 3 weeks.

Then all three sparks had long outages of typically 3 hours every day. Months later, they continue to do that. Every day.

I have raised literally dozens of tickets. They love cut and paste replies and consider that dealt with. On each ticket thread, at some point, the answer is to upgrade. Even when its a tiny LAMP server website.

Here is the latest and my reply:
(This is one of their cut 'n paste responses to a complex question)
Hi, Kindly let us know the exact issue. We will check it further. Regards, xxxx yyyy - Systems Administrator

For what purpose? I already offered help. It was ignored. It remains unstable. I am not threatening to move server hosting, I already did it on two sparks.
I will move the last one and that will be the end of that.

These are the key clues.
ALL THREE SPARKS go unreachable at the same time.
ALL THREE SPARKS recover at the same time.
Each time you blame one of MY sparks, whichever one i raise a ticket on.
You have accused me, at different times, of running CPU at 100% when it was 15%

Conclusions.
The screw-up is at Host-Level not Client-Level.
You do not know how to fix it.
I think you may have a rogue or just busy process on one or more VPS. EG Malware and the Hyper-visor is not handling it (not throttling, resource balancing etc. The usual stuff that should be done. ).
It's not on mine , I checked them all using CLAM and 2 of them have no running apps at all, the last one is a simple LAMP server.
This is an unreliable platform and unfit for purpose.

When I have arranged new hosting, I shall remove the last spark.

[GCORELABS] KVM-SSD-1

Hello guys,

i'd been with VEESP for quite a long time and was super happy. Stable service, uptime and great customer service for a year. Because i missed this years BF-Offer, i've wanted to test another russian location, so i tried GCoreLabs (https://gcorelabs.com/hosting/vds/).

I've ordered a VPS (the smallest one) called "KVM-SSD-1" in Moscow-2. The VPS comes with the following specs:

  • 1 vCPU
  • 512 MB Ram
  • 20 GB SSD Disc
  • 200 Mbit unlimited bandwidth (no throtteling)

Because i've been wondering about the "bad" performance, i've also raised a support ticket where their support states the following:

  • Limited to 1000 IOPS
  • Limited to 150 MB/s (disc wise)
  • Proof

Overall im quite fine with their service so far, good support reaction times, VPS seems solid even though its limited. Will keep testing it for a few more weeks and update this review once the period is over.

Here is the test-result:

Beware of SolvedByData, Horror story, won't refund

Even when I feel I have lots to say, I'll try to keep it short

So about a month ago, I went for a reseller package with them after reading great reviews here and on LEB
I was so happy because the migration was included, so no need to worry about that
Just 4 small Wordpress sites, landing pages

I give them login details for my previous hosting hoping they would do the job.
No, they ask me to upload the backup files.
Fine I do so, no worries.
I receive an email a week later, ticket closed, all done
And there's only one site properly migrated
Next thing it goes down a couple times for about 4hrs each time
After all my hard work, gaining SEO positioning, etc.

So I decided to move away from them
I also ordered from them because they offer a money back guarantee

Guess what?

I'm still waiting for my refund
PayPal case PP-D-xxxx7488

Every time I ask for my refund, the account manager happens to be away.

They even erase my tickets from support, no answer at all!
