REVIEW: WholeSale Internet - Dual Intel Xeon 5420 Preconfigured - $30/mo

0
0

Just thought I'd post a little review, because I just logged into my WSI server as root for the first time in a long time to check SMART data and uptime. 99 Days of uptime! That means there have been 0 power interruptions since having the server.

The (single non-RAIDed) Toshiba DT01ACA200 (a fairly decent rebadged Hitachi drive) only has less than 3500 hours on it (~145 days) so it was almost brand new when I got the server. It's a fast drive, and while I know DD isn't really accurate I got 149MB/s with everything running on the server

I run XenCenter on the server which several different VMs, including a nameserver and backup server, and some other random non-mission-critical stuff.

The only complaint is I have frequent short network outages. Link to my StatusCake: http://i.imgur.com/FC7RCuE.png 99.84% total uptime. Not a big deal for my usage, but I would not run anything from WSI that required near-100% availability like an ecommerce website, PBX, or business email. Also, the network isn't very diverse, as you can see here (my WSI server seems to be on the DataShack ASN, but WSI is the only thing that connects to, so it' clearly the same company and network): http://bgp.he.net/AS33387 that said, pure HE isn't bad - I operated on pure HE myself for quite some time with no problems. I'm not sure if their network blips are within their DC/network or on HE's end but it's probably on WSI's end.

I've had WSI/DS/Nocix services in the past in addition to the server I have now with WSI, and support is always fast and knowledgable. The new automated Reload system works well and definitely saves time for both customers and their support techs.

TLDR; WSI is fantastic for people that need an affordable and reliable server for development, backup, infrastructure, etc. If they could improve the stability and diversity of their network they'd be perfect. So, I vote 9/10 for wholesaleinternet.net overall!

Fast Review from WorldStream NL (13 Days) 9.99EUR Dedi

Hey,

This Review is dedicated to this offer: http://lowendtalk.com/discussion/37493/ws-nl-dedicated-intel-celeron-g1620-2gb-ram-500gb-hdd-1tb-traffic-9-99-per-month-ws

I bought one of these Dedis 13 Days ago (19.12.14), Ordered/Paid at 9 a clock, the Dedi itself was devliered at 13:08, after i logged in i noticed it has the wrong CPU.

So i vent into livechat, and i got a replacement within 30 minutes, with the Correct CPU (Intel Celeron G1620 which is more powerfull as that Athlon X2) with some Memory for free on Top as it seems (4GB instead of 2GB).

Some Benchmark Stuff: http://serverbear.com/benchmark/2014/12/19/x7yAZATwAp9TwEYZ

So, my first Contact to the Support was Yesterday, i need to boot that Dedi into rescue mode. I got a response within 13 Minutes and access to there rescue/reinstall system for free ( I didn't bought the Feature while ordering).

Conclusion: For 9,99EUR (60EUR/72EUR with TAX, for 6 Months which i paid) its a good deal. Also when it has only 1TB but the CPU has a high Benchmarkscore (2671) for that price is really good and i can beat these Intel Atom's in terms of Power.

SmartHosting UK Review

0

So, I have been a customer of SmartHosting for around 3-4 months now and thought I’d better give you guys a review about them!

At the end of October 2015, I was looking around for UK Web Hosting providers with good reviews and multiple times I came across SmartHosting with their claims of ‘Unlimited Hosting’. I was a little sceptical at first due to this claim but thought I’d give it a go. The Sign Up process went smoothly and my account was provisioned straight after I paid.

What did I get? Unlimited Everything! Their servers are very fast with a very low ping. They have multiple ‘Clouds’ which appear to run on OnApp (don’t quote me on that! :-) )

Their Unlimited Web Hosting Costs £2.49 per month (+ VAT). Their Unlimited Reseller Web Hosting costs £8.99 per month (+ VAT). Their Unlimited Master Reseller Hosting costs £19.99 per month (+ VAT).

They offer:

• 99.99% Uptime Guarantee • 30 Day Money Back Guarantee • 24/7 UK Technical Support • Industry Experience Since 1999 • Price Promise • PCI Compliant Hosting • NO Contracts • NO Setup Fees • Premium Dell & CISCO Hardware

Their Support is super-fast, their server hasn’t gone down since I’ve been with them, they are friendly and their prices are great! Overall, I am very impressed by them! They have been great. I’ll be sticking with them for many years to come! 10/10 from me!

First Impressions of Microsoft Azure

0
0

Because of the feedback I received on my review of Google Compute last September, I decided to jot down my first impressions of Microsoft Azure. For many people who regularly read LowEndTalk, Google Compute and Microsoft Azure may not be considered as providers because of an assumption that they are too expensive. But, depending on what you need to do, that may not be true. Google and Microsoft do offer machines starting at about $4/month and $12/month respectively.

My evaluation of Azure was part of a 30 day $250 free trial and, though I am not a Microsoft fan, I started the trial with an open mind. The main Azure portal was a slick interface that was clearly designed to impress, but unfortunately this was one of the few positive attributes I have to share. The system itself was inferior to any other provider I have used in the past. In a nutshell, Azure suffers from an overly complex management process, poor documentation, inconsistent support of basic functionality and slow instance creation. Price-wise it was much more expensive than Google Compute. In my case, it was about three times more expensive.

I simply can't imagine Azure being of interest to anyone who wants to use a Linux Virtual Machine. There are so many better providers out there. I suspect Microsoft is simply counting on large Microsoft-centric shops to use Azure in order to remain within the same ecosystem.

For now I will stick with my preferred providers: Vultr (ref), Digital Ocean (ref) and, for bigger machines, Google Compute. You can find more about Vultr (ref) and Digital Ocean (ref) in my earlier review here.

My full review of Microsoft Azure is available on my blog at blog.breganasher.com.

Wholesale Internet - My experience..

0
0

Where should I begin?

Okay, back in September I signed up to a OnraHost reseller plan but, since it didn’t suit my needs (location wise) I asked for a full refund the next day. Unknown to me, a representative of OnraHost left a FraudRecord report about me. Enough about the past, let’s get back to the present.

A few days ago, I wanted to sign up to Wholesale Internet and get the $10 server! It was a good price with a good company, or so it seemed. I paid for the server but soon later it was cancelled and marked as fraud. I questioned this as I didn’t know about the FraudRecord report. A member on these forums made me aware of the report so I contacted OnraHost about it. Zack from OnraHost was so nice and friendly about it and got it removed for me and even attempted to explain the situation to Wholesale Internet.

Today, I contacted Wholesale Internet back stating the record has been removed and sent a copy of mine and OnraHosts ticket. They’ve turned round and basically told me to find someone else as their system has restricted me and that they can’t unblock me for some reason. I asked for a re-review but that was declined also.

It hasn’t been a good experience with them and I was just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with them or someone similar?

-David

I need to get with the owner of hostsolutions.ro

0
0

I had bought a KVM VPS from hostsolutions.ro from about 10 days or so and paid quarterly, my problem with it is their non-sense control panel and their no-sense support.

I have no experience with promox as I have never used it (I am mainly towards solusvm), but I guess their is something wrong with their configuration or I don't really care about that..

The VPS hasn't been used except for yesterday when I asked their support to install windows for me on it as a temporary solution, in a strange way of non-usage I see 1653MB of Bandwidth usage...

When I start the VPS, it works well, and then trying to "Rebuild VM" it shuts it down again and same story in a loop and when I try to access their VNC to install the OS I want I get the following:

I said in myself, what could this be.. hmm I have Java installed already and everything is fine, tried the other browsers from Internet explorer to Safari and always get a missing plugin or a blank page like this

so I said why not going to their support opened a ticket and got respond after 48 hours I guess?

so I forwarded to their support through skype after many failures of getting that thing npapi to work,

He is always saying crap English and "napi" lol whatever.. "If we tell you is possible is possible" I made a huge laugh after this sentence.

Proof: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/6213033?hl=en

Technically that guy who called cristian isn't aware of what he is saying, he is forcing me to use Legacy technology and Legacy browser to check the VNC..

So here is my request from them: 1.Fix your crap control panel 2.Get better support, who aren't aware of how to support customers and using proper English. 3.Let me install my preferable OS in peace!

They probably don't know I am the owner of the well known HostingBox which closed recently due some finicial issues and acting with me like I am a noob user.

Finally I am not saying anything bad about them or any "real review" of the VPS because I am still stuck with these issues and I hope they understand that I wanted them to improve their "this".

Edit: I posted this after may failures and requests of letting them help me, they always say I am wrong, so if you are a customer in this company tell me what's wrong with me, at least I have my proof.

Wholesalecrap treating customers like chickenshit

0

I am a customer of wholesalecrap for about six months now. On Thursday I ordered a new server and the IPv4s provided with it were all listed on baracuda. Which I reported immediately but they failed to do anything about it. On friday I got notification from lfd that spam was being sent from one of the cpanel clients accounts and I suspended the account quickly because I actively monitor the server. Many hours after that I received abuse complaint regarding the same account I had suspended. So that account wasn't active at the time the abuse complaint was forwarded to me. I replied the ticket within working hours. But there was no response from the abuse department and my server was unplugged. Now the support department is telling me that the abuse department only works during weekdays and only they can do anything about my server so nothing can be done before monday. When I was allotted this IPv4 it was listed on one blocklist and due to some spamming from one customer now it is listed on three blocklists in total which of course can be removed easily and they unplugged my server for this. Upon my request for a cancellation and refund they told me that we don't do refunds and they pointed me to their TOS document. Basically they told me to fuck off. Now I am thinking if I had paid a little extra dollars and purchased from a decent company I wouldn't have to go through all this crap. Lesson learned the hard way.

Some SMS records with Roy Pacer and System Error Reports

Link:http://my.rapiddata.org/pic/index.html

It seems like predecessor of Roy Pacer:http://tech.hexun.com/2015-10-28/180164199.html **

I am a pacificidc's customer.

I have a vps node in their datacenter.

We have about 200 VPSs on this vps node.

The network is just so so.

At first, the network is very good for Chinese. And his others customers' reports are also very good.Since Lotuservers thing happened.Their service turn to bad.

The longet noresponsing time reached 2-3 days(Support ticket,NOT INCLUDE MANAGED SERVICE,JUST UNMANAGED SERVICE.).

The network turn to bad.Sometimes, can loss 20-30% packet.

And firstly the hardwork also is just so so.

But..

Recently. There are some unpleasant things happened.

As the customers' report,First,The VPS node down on 2/1/2016

The node down and cannot boot.

The ipmi reports that the disk ran into some problems.

As for our scaning,We think the hardware has some problems.Maybe damaged.

So,We opened a ticket,But they no respond for longtime.

Their BOSS deal with this thing firstly.

And no respond for 3days.

So,He transfer to Roy Pacer.

Also dayly respond.

What I can't bear is..They Repeatedly shirk!!

Up to now.The node had downed for 14days.

Our word of mouth ashes to ashes!!!!

We dont know how to do next.

Finally.I put ticket picture up.

I just want to know what's meaning of "FUCK IT UP" that Roy Pacer said on the ticket..

This is the worst IDC that i meet!. What do you think?

The hardware problem.Just means I think!!!!not truth,please dont misunderstand.

If you say the hardware has no problem. Why dont you make a test??But avoid! What's meaning could you tell me?Unmanaged Service not include hardware test?Joke!

VPSGet.com Review

I have been using VZ-1 package from VPSGet.com since October 2015. I pay $6 per month. I use TaskFreak! there and that VPS is enough for me. I started with VPS (not shared hosting) and I have never regretted of this. I used Paypal to pay and was provided access to the VPS within several minutes after payment. I haven’t had any server issues yet. Server/network uptime – is high (so far no downtimes). Customer care (at least the guy I talked to) was good, very friendly and attentive. I had server fast and was offered basic managed support for free, but I managed to setup server myself. My friend helped me. He does some admin work (that’s why I started using unmanaged server). So far I haven’t used their tech support. They offer better price if you pay for whole year in advance. I asked if I can have that price monthly, but they refused providing me cheaper price for monthly billing. That is not what I like. But I can recommend VPSGet.com if you are looking for small and inexpensive VPS. I hope you will have the same good service as I currently have.

I decided to try the offer on LEB from Tzulo. The server was set up in a couple of hours. Decided to take a SSD over the 2TB hard drive.

Worried about the life of the SSD...

Found a good LET priced Swiss VPS provider

0
0

Just to make it clear I am not by any means affiliated with this company.

However I am very happy with their services and knowing the price of servers and bandwidth in Switzerland they sell for quite a good price. For those who know may be nothing new but for those who don't it it is colocore.ch as there recently was a post about slask datacenter I thought I'd share this.

I grabbed a 1GB ram VPS for only 2.90 CHF

Just recommending for others

BuyShared Review 1 year, 6 months, 2 days

0
0

Hello Folks,

I've been a BuyShared customer for exactly 1 year, 6 months, 2 days as of this post, and it's been great.

I use their USA location.

Proof:

I started off as a month - month customer, and on Oct 1 2014 I upgraded it to a $20/yearly package.

I mainly use it to test stuff, host some small development sites, host some friends sites, etc.

Support:

Support is awesome, I mainly get ticket responses from Aldryic, who is very helpful and always gets straight to the point.

What I really like is their blackhole policy.

Nullroutes on shared hosting last 15 ~ 30 minutes depending on if you keep getting attacked.

A lot of hosts I've used in the past just null route the IP for a minimum of 24 hours, even if the attack is no longer happening, which is very inconvenient, BuyShared's 15-30 minutes policy is excellent.

There has been a few incidents where one of the sites I host on the reseller get's DDOS attacked (which I am moving over to a DDOS protected VPS very soon), so the 15 minute policy ensures everything is back online as soon as possible.

Uptime:

Uptime is extremely solid, never had any downtime except one time where Fiberhub (the datacenter they use) went down and all services were offline for a few hours. This was out of BuyShared's control.

Unique Features

They recently added LetsEnrypt to their cPanel servers so everyone can have SSLs for free.

Cons:

The only bad thing I can say is the manual order verification. If you order after hours, you wont get your credentials right away as they manually verify your payment, and other stuff.

Example: I ordered a shared cPanel account during the first week of January 2016 on a Friday night around 10PM for a friend, (didn't put them on my reseller as they wanted their own IP), the order was fulfilled around 8:30am the following Saturday.

Suggestions:

Being able to buy a DDOS protected IP on a shared hosting package would be awesome.

Conclusion:

BuyShared is a great place to host your websites.

Sure there might be a bit of a delay after you place you order, but once it's provisioned, it's smooth sailing.

p.s. I bought a DDOS protected VPS from them about a month ago, it's rock solid, so be sure to check those out.

I'll post a review on the VPS in a year.

NameSilo

I have been registering domains for well over a decade now with GoDaddy, eNOM, Namecheap(an eNom reseller) & a few others but NameSilo not only has cheap prices but also knowledgeable support that is actually willing to help with free private WHOIS for life & free DNSSEC as well. Domain Defender feature is also very helpful in increasing security & preventing your domains from getting stolen. Their domain management interface is very friendly & easy to use even for newbies. I would recommend NameSilo to anyone not looking for cheap but a good registrar also.

HostUS

I believe they have been the most reliable provider I've personally used! I have been so satisfied that I just renewed for a second year and that almost never happens with me because I find better deals between sign up and renewal. I've only had a few support requests and they have always answered them within minutes.

Every month I get my independent site monitoring emails to report overall uptime and it has never been under 98%, I actually think that it is typically 99.xx%

Finally, theirs is also the only VPS I currently have that hasn't been rebooted since I set it up...

I highly recommend trying them, I know I've been very satisfied.

Weloveservers now Hostwinds - And the Story Begins!

Its not so long, weloveservers.net acquired by Hostwinds. 2 days ago I got mail that server is going to be migrated at Hostwind servers, IP change, bla bla bla.

Anyway, it was a $17.50/yr. based server. I love the recurring price Hostwinds set for me: http://s12.postimg.org/846g3r9st/image.png

Anyone still with them Weloveservers/hostwinds? Wish to renew these service?

In the meantime Im looking for a refugee offer from some decent provider. Your opinion are welcome.

All-Inkl.com | The Webhost you want!

I have been a customer of All-Inkl.com for nearly 3 years now and thought it might be time to issue a review. I have already done this in Trustpilot (were they are rated 5/5 stars) and will also do this here.

I started off using their Webhosting "Privat" plan (started with 6months FREE then 4,99€) which already comes with plenty webspace (50gb), 3 domains and enough databases and email accounts for you to use. I then upgraded about half a year ago to the "premium" plan which costs about 10€ and has 250gb webspace, 10 domains and again enough databases etc..They had to transfer my websites to another server which took only 3 hours after my request was issued. What really made me do this review however, is the outstanding quality they deliver. I have experienced my first downtime of their services a month ago and it lasted about 5 minutes. Their servers are blazing fast and although they are only hosting their servers in Germany, my websites are loading very fast from Australia (where I am currently at). Faster than with my previous hosting provider for sure. Furthermore their support is VERY skilled and replied to all of my e-mail inquiries with a solution proposal within 10-15minutes (even after hours such as 02:00) and keept being on standby to ensure my problems were fixed. I never had to contact their phone hotline for support but I am sure they are just as skilled.

I am not sure how to put this as you probably could easily host the whole thing cheaper with a vps but with this provider I have the feeling that I will be spared of any bad surprises.

I would recommend to give them a try for any of your personal webprojects or if you are looking for a reliable host to host your buissiness website "offshore".

As far as technical requirements for webservices are concerned they offer everything you need from php extensions to crons etc... If you lack something simply contact them and they will go out of their way to make it work. You also get SSH access for all plans above the "Private" one.

That being said I hope this could help one or another.

Only downside: While their CP is available in english I havent seen an english version of their website. Means you would have to use translator. But shouldnt be an issue. If you are having problems contact their support :)
